Dory Funk Jr., former NWA World Heavyweight Champion and inductee in the WWE Hall of Fame, was born into the wrestling business, as his father, Dory Funk Sr., wasn’t just a major draw in professional wrestling, but was the booker of Western States Sports, a professional wrestling territory operating out of Amarillo, Texas, as well as two other prominent territories throughout his storied career. Still not having retired from wrestling, Dory still battles in Japan for the historic All Japan Pro Wrestling corporation as their PWF commissioner. When not making people tap to his signature spinning toe hold, Dory runs the Funking Conservatory, one of the top professional wrestling schools in the country, and has had his hand in training such wrestling legends as Kurt Angle, Mark Henry, Christian, Lita, and Mickey James, just to name a few.
